In February 2020, IAFOR held what was to be its last onsite conference before the global pandemic in Singapore. It was to be its last fully onsite conference. As we return to Singapore, IAFOR CEO, Dr Joseph Haldane, and the IAFOR Research Centre's Director of Research at the Osaka School of International Public Policy (OSIPP), Professor Haruko Satoh, look back at the pandemic years and share some of the greatest challenges and some of the most interesting opportunities that arose as a result.
This conversation will include IAFOR's trials of running online and hybrid conferences, opportunities for collaboration with other academic conferences, and the IAFOR Research Centre's coming of age in handling several international research projects, including a Japan government-commissioned international report on the outbreak of infectious diseases on cruise ships and a Japan-Korea project funded by the Korea Foundation. Other featured topics will include the parallel ASEAN Career Fair with Japan and its Symposium, held in partnership with OSIPP's new research centre, the ESG-Integration Research and Education Centre (ESG-IREC), and why this will become important for IAFOR.
